Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series Takes On Las Vegas

Strange rumblings went down out on the dirt track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this past weekend as Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series took the field.

Amidst a fury of paint-swapping, where seemingly each truck contacted every other one at some point, the perennially favored Pro 4 #99 Kyle LeDuc broke his twelve-win streak, taking third on the podium with #17 Carl Renezeder and #21 Rob MacCachren taking first and second, respectively.

Things calmed down slightly on Saturday night for the Pro 4 crew. After a heated multi-lap battle for second with LeDuc, #96 Doug Fortin crossed the line 2.68 seconds behind #7 Bryce Menzies, marking the first Pro 4 win for the Las Vegas native. This win was even sweeter for Menzies, occurring in front of packed grandstands at his home track.

Saturday was the night of rollovers for the Pro Lite crew with #26 Ronnie Faisst turtling his rig on the practice lap. After gallantly recovering from his own early tumble, Supreme Suspensions’ #56 Wade Wyman suffered fatal suspension damage to his right front corner on the back side of lap six, forcing him to limp into the pits on a yellow flag and hang up his helmet for the weekend. At the end of the run, #77 Brooks, #6 Arthur, and #12 Brock Heger took the one, two, and three spots.

“Fortunately, the engine block didn’t get hit,” said Mike Wyman, Wade Wyman’s father and acting crew chief. “You break a shock, you can replace it. We can rebuild frame sections. But losing the motor would have been a real setback.”

Wyman and the rest of the Lucas Oil Off-Road Racing Series have a little over a month to get ready for the final round of the 2015 season at the Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, Ca. With less than a 100 point spread amongst the top five Pro Lite drivers leading into Las Vegas last weekend, the competition is fierce and the season will certainly come down to the final race. Join us October 24th and 25th in Lake Elsinore to experience the conclusion of one wild season of Lucas Oil Off-Road racing.

In the meantime, join us on October 3rd and 4th for the Lucas Oil Off-Road Expo at the Fairplex in Pomona, Ca. Dozens of exhibitors are lined up for two days packed with meet-and-greets, product demos, ride-alongs, live music, and more! For more information, visit www.offroadexpo.com.
